Augustiner Keller

Just a hop, skip and a jump from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof), the Augustiner Keller is the oldest and largest inner city beer garden in the world, seating up to 5 thousand people under the thick leaves of European brown chestnut trees. While you are there step inside and take a peek at the 9 meter deep cellar. This is where the enormous barrels of fine Munich Helles (Bavarian for beer) were stored to keep them cold throughout the summer. Today it serves as a bar area, with one looming barrel still to be seen in its depths. Location: Arnulfstrasse 52

Kulturfabrik

Holding claims as the biggest party zone in Europe, Kultfabrik, once known as Kunstparkost, is an old noodle factory complex turned into a maze of bars and nightclubs.
